2023.12.22＜ManySplendid ate hot glutinous rice balls on the Winter Solstice Festival.＞

With the arrival of the Winter Solstice Festival, the first wave of cold front also followed. On this cold weather , ManySplendid prepared many kinds of sweet and salty hot glutinous rice balls for colleagues, warming our bodies and stomachs. 2023.12.9＜ManySplendid family farm fun trip＞

ManySplendid went to the WenSun Farm to hold a Thanksgiving event. The company colleagues brought their family members together to get close to nature. The guide led everyone to recognize various species of flowers, plants and trees in the farm , and then made the farm's characteristic tea jelly. At noon, everyone went to barbecue together; after filling our stomachs, then took everyone to exercise the muscles, put on straw hats, tied up tea baskets, and went to the tea garden to experience the fun of picking tea. Finally, we enjoyed various "tea snacks" and drew a perfect end.
In the season of gratitude, we especially thanks for having such an opportunity to gather the ManySplendid family together, not only enhancing the relationship between colleagues, but also bringing the family together for fun!

2023.12.7-8＜ManySplendid fielded surveys of reservoir watersheds in southern region.＞

ManySplendid executed the "Decision Support for Integrated Flood Prevention and Sediment Sluicing Operation of Zengwen Reservoir" and participated in the "Maintenance of a smart system for operation and equipment of Mudan Reservoir" additionally other projects for the Southern Region Water Resources Branch, and conducted field Surveys in the region of the Southern Region Water Resources Branch.
The Gaoping River weir is not only the widest rubber dam in Taiwan, but also the lifeblood of the Kaohsiung area, alleviating the crisis of land subsidence and resolving the dispute over water rights. The hyporheic zone of the Gaoping River is a hidden and mysterious partner of the Gaoping River weir. It lies beneath the surface and shows its influence when the river water becomes highly turbid. It guarantees Water Supply for the Kaohsiung area and provides clean drinking water for the people. The Mudan Reservoir is the treasure of Pingtung County, providing abundant irrigation water for farmers, also a beautiful tourist attraction, attracting countless tourists to stop here. The rain gauge and water level gauge in the Mudan Reservoir catchment area are the eyes of the Southern Region Water Resources Branch, WRA, and the assistant of reservoir management as well. The various equipment monitors the rainfall and water level upstream of the Mudan Reservoir in real time and provides important information for operating the reservoir!

2023.12.4＜ManySplendid co-organized the Quantitative Precipitation Forecast for Flood Warning, Reservoir Flood Control and Sediment Removal Operation Real Case-based Training.＞

ManySplendid assisted the Southern Region Water Resources Branch in organizing the "Quantitative Precipitation Forecast for Flood Warning, Reservoir Flood Control and Sediment Removal Operation Real Case-based Training ". The course content compares the forecast and actual rainfall this year, explains how to interpret or use the forecast information, and takes the actual typhoon event of the Zengwen Reservoir as an example and analyzes how to take the operation decision to ensure the safety of the reservoir at different stages, and the participants also share their unforgettable reservoir operation experience. The enriching and Intellectual course ended successfully in the solid and essential teaching and lively and interesting interaction!

2023.11.17＜ManySplendid Company kept creating a gender-friendly workplace.＞

In 2021, ManySplendid established the "ManySplendid Sexual Harassment Prevention Measures, Complaints and Disciplinary Actions" in accordance with the "Sexual Harassment Prevention Act" and the "Gender Equality in Employment Act", and after the Legislative Yuan passed the amendments to some articles of the two laws on July 31 this year, it immediately revised and adjusted the established procedures to protect the welfare and rights of colleagues, and strengthen the awareness of zero tolerance for gender violence and respect for diversity, so that employees and employers respect and cooperate with each other, and jointly create a safe, healthy, harmonious, and gender-friendly work environment!

 

2023.10.18＜The ManySplendid Company Held an Employee Education and Training Event＞

The employee education and training this year was a breath of fresh air. During the first part of the event, consultants from business administration explained topics related to labor-management and legal aspects about flexible working hours. In the next segment, a fitness instructor demonstrated the correct sitting posture for working at an office desk. The instructor also taught all co-workers how to move their muscles and various office-friendly exercises. Then a certified ISO cybersecurity instructor from within our company provided training on cybersecurity measures to protect PCs, laptops, and servers. And in the final segment, a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) instructor from within our company used simple and clear, interactive explanations to lead everyone in understanding the concepts of project management.
The training sessions featured an unexpected award ceremony. Thanks to the colleagues who have assisted in campus recruiting activities in addition to their daytime work.
The training sessions this year not only improved co-workers’ insight and skills, but also equally valued workplace health. We hope our colleagues are not only able to enhance their skills from this training, but also take what they’ve learned to stay in good health. We wish all of ManySplendid’s team to enjoy a more fulfilling life!

2023.10.13＜The ManySplendid Company Conducted a Fire Drill.＞

According to Article 15 of the Enforcement Rules of Fire Services Act, the ManySplendid Company has organized a fire fighting group, a reporting group and an emergency evacuation routes Group. And through running a fire drill, ManySpledndid’s staff got practice to react promptly and efficiently in the event of a fire. After just a few minutes of running the fire drill, it gave everyone the chance to familarize themselves with the emergency evacuation routes and improved fire prevention awareness and response capabilities.

2023.10.3＜ManySplendid introduced the initiative, ”Beverage Treats for Typhoon Koinu!”＞

The Central Weather Bureau just issued a sea warning for Typhoon Koinu on the night of October 2nd. ManySplendid again introduced the initiative: “As long as a sea warning is issued for a typhoon, get treated to a beverage!” We want to cheer all co-workers up so they can unite and fight against the storms hitting Taiwan.

2023.9.8＜ManySplendid introduced the initiative: “Beverage Treats for Typhoon Haikui!”＞

The arrival of Typhoon Haikui marked the end of a record-breaking period of over four years without any typhoons making landfall in Taiwan. The co-workers at ManySplendid were vigilant from before the sea warning was issued on September 1st until the alert was lifted on September 4th. And during this whole time, they did not let their guard down in the slightest. In order to show our appreciation for the continuous hard work of our co-workers in providing the best typhoon and flood warning information during critical disaster prevention moments, our company specially prepared coffee, tea and other warm beverages that let everyone recharge batteries and replenish their energy, allowing them to continue contributing to the country and society!

2023.9.5-7＜ManySplendid participated in the “2023 Conference on Weather Analysis and Forecasting.”＞

ManySplendid participated in the '”2023 Conference on Weather Analysis and Forecasting”, organized by the Central Weather Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, and ran from September 5th to 7th. ManySplendid was invited to serve as a Special Issues speaker and presented a paper titled "Current techniques of gridding surface station observations and non-outlier anomaly detection". During this event, ManySplendid presented several papers on various topics, including “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Meteorology, Climate Monitoring and Prediction, Atmospheric Environmental Monitoring and Analysis”. During the conference, ManySplendid showcased its technical capabilities in the field of meteorology and hydrology. We engaged in academic and technical exchanges with domestic and international experts in meteorology, oceanography, and disaster prevention technology.

2023.8.30＜“The Zhongyuan Pudu of ManySplendid “＞

On the day of the Hungry Ghost Festival, all the colleagues at ManySplendid visited Jiying Temple in Jingmei to participate in the temple's organized religious rituals and Zhongyuan Pudu. We respectfully offered fruits and offerings for the benefit of our good brothers (ghosts). ManySplendid not only followed the traditional rituals, but also enabled the younger generation to appreciate the traditional folk culture, and contributed our efforts to the preservation of our culture.

2023.8.29＜ManySplendid participated in the “The 26th Hydraulic Engineering Conference.”＞

The 26th “Hydraulic Engineering Conference (HEC)” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Chung Hsing University (NCHU). The HEC has been held for more than forty years since 1982, and is one of the most important academic events in Hydraulic Engineering. ManySplendid has actively contributed to this event by presenting four papers, including "Comparative Analysis of Quantitative Precipitation Forecast with Observed Rainfall during the Flood Season at the Zengwen Reservoir", "Applicability of Rainfall Type Distribution in Hourly Rainfall Allocation", "Development and Implementation of Real-Time Automated Urban Drainage System (SWMM)", and "Sampling Strategy Study of Shulin Dual Polarization Radar for the Taipei Basin." We showcased both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, engaging in discussions and mutual exchanges with experts and scholars. This allowed us not only to observe various levels of technological applications but also to gain valuable experiences and insight.

The Central Weather Bureau just issued a sea warning for the Typhoon Saola on the night of August 28th. The next day, our company treated all co-workers to popular beverages to help cheer them up and motivate them to deliver timely and effective warnings in preparation for the typhoon.

2023.8.23＜ManySplendid participated in the “The 4th Taiwan Weather Enterprise Forum .”＞

ManySplendid is a member of the Taiwan Climate Services Partnership. On August 23rd, we were invited to serve as a panelist at the "The 4th Taiwan Weather Enterprise Forum - Collaborating for Sustainability: Government Organizational Transformation and Industry Cooperation in Addressing Climate Change." ManySplendid delivered the presentation titled, "Flood Prevention of Meteorology and Hydraulic Engineering: the Development of Quantitative Precipitation Forecast and Taiwan's Flood Forecasting System." This presentation went into detail about how, after adopting precipitation forecasting products provided by Taiwan’s Central Weather Bureau, disaster prevention technologies, including flood forecasting, have been applied and how it has complemented years of practical flood prevention experience. We look forward to facilitating supply and demand engagements through the forum’s platform, and using the partnership as a communication bridge. We aim to gather suggestions from various sectors regarding the promotion of climate services, which will further advance the development of Taiwan’s weather-focused enterprises.

2023.8.6&16＜ManySplendid Company participated in a seminar on“Establishment and Capacity Building of the Belize River Basin Disaster Prevention and Warning System”＞

ManySplendid Company and the Tenth River Management Office jointly welcomed the delegation from the friendly nation of Belize, for discussion on the topic of Sustainable Development, Climate Change, and Disaster Risk Management Department of Belize.
The Belize Interagency Rapid Response Team visited the Yuanshantze Flood Diversion Management Center on August 6th. During the visit, we shared past experiences with flooding damage and discussed the benefits brought about by the Yuanshantze Flood Diversion Project. We also exchanged insights and concepts related to flood prevention from various perspectives.
The Belizean team arrived at the Taipei flood warning Central -Tamsui River Basin Information Center on August 16th. We started the meeting by explaining the establishment of River Warning Stages and flood forecasting model, then delved deeper into sharing our experiences in the Tamsui River Basin regarding flood monitoring, flood volunteering, disaster community applications, and disaster response. We went through each of these aspects to provide insights to our friendly nation’s team members. Through this exchange, we hope to share Taiwan's mature techniques in flood prevention and experiences, ultimately enhancing their disaster preparedness and safeguarding people's lives and property.

This invention’s patent is based on an automatic flowchart that allows for instant watershed calculation in the Taiwan region based on a clicked-on location at an outlet in the watershed. This system is integrated with relevant rainfall data and conducts hydrological calculations for the watershed. The data is collected from discharge hydrographs at watershed outlets.The associated processes encompass a watershed coordinate pool, geomorphic analysis, rainfall assessment, and upstream flood analysis. Using the watershed’s geomorphic information and the rainfall data, the system is able to generate upstream flood information related to the location that is selected..

The paper, "Water resources engineering can also be highly digital-Presidential Hackathon competition: Colorful Water Net 0", was published in "The magazine of Chinese Institute of Engineers” in June 2023. The authors include Ph.D. Wen-Sen Lee and professional hydraulic engineer Rong-Wei Lee of ManySplendid, along with Director Jiing-Yun You from Hydrotech Research Institute at National Taiwan University, and CEO Chia-Hung Hou from Water Innovation, Low-Carbon and Environmental Sustainability Research Center.

2023.4.12-13＜ManySplendid Infotech is a subcontractor that assisted CWB in holding the event, "Typhoon IDSS Workshop 2023."＞

The "Typhoon IDSS Workshop 2023" was organized by the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) and was held on April 12th to 13th. ManySpendid Infotech is the subcontractor that assisted CWB with holding the Workshop. In recent years, international meteorological organizations have focused on discussing Impact-based Decision Support Services (IDSS) to help decision-makers make more effective decisions and reduce losses during natural disaster events.

This workshop invited experts from the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) / COMET, government agencies and professional private organizations. The experts of UCAR/COMET demonstrated the development of IBF/IDSS and shared their experiences with applications. Following that, the attendees participated where the products and services for each typhoon stage were proposed and discussed, and the workshop successfully facilitated the exchange of insight and experiences.

2023.3.16-20＜ManySpendid's annual employee trip!＞

With the easing of the pandemic and the reopening of international travel,
ManySpendid's annual employee trip finally included an overseas destination this year.
Our destination is the Kanto Area in Japan, where we visited the enchanting world of fairy tales in Tokyo Disneyland and enjoyed a dazzling night of parades and fireworks. We also explored the historic Japanese culture with a street experience in Kusatsu Onsen and savored the local specialty of Kusatsu Onsen steamed buns. In Karuizawa, we admired the picturesque Shiraito Falls, known for its hidden gem-like beauty, and even had the privilege to witness a spring snow scene! We have been excited to experience the natural and cultural customs of many foreign countries during our trips.
Looking forward to exploring other destinations in the future and immersing ourselves in diverse and captivating landscapes.

Microsoft Taiwan Corporation and SYSTEX Corporation visited ManySplendid Infotech.
Following the invitation from the Water Resources Agency on January 6th to visit Microsoft Taiwan Corporation, ManySplendid Infotech started formal commercial communication with Microsoft Taiwan Corporation and SYSTEX Corporation.
The meeting began with ManySplendid Infotech presenting its historical achievements and specialized technologies. The topics in the meeting spurred a lively discussion. After ManySplendid concluded their presentation, Microsoft Taiwan demonstrated their corporate strategies with cross-industry partners, as well as the various applications of Microsoft Azure. Our colleagues had benefited a lot from learning about the technical applications during this meeting.
After the meeting, we all discussed the opportunities for cooperation over lunch. We look forward to further collaboration with Microsoft Taiwan Corporation and SYSTEX Corporation in the future.

Microsoft Taiwan Corporation invited the Water Resources Agency (WRA) to visit and experience the new technological developments in Mixed Reality, water resource sustainability and smart water resource management. ManySplendid Infotech was also invited to the event, since ManySplendid Infotech is one data analysis subcontractor of the WRA. Through this valuable opportunity, our company assigned several senior level colleagues for this Microsoft Taiwan Corporation visit. Microsoft has promoted upgrading to the industrial metaverse for many years, and has developed new technologies, like Mixed Reality and Digital Twin, which provides functionality for collaboration and process integration. Through easy-to-understand instructions, users can operate the system by themselves, then co-workers can communicate online in real time through Mixed Reality. In addition, Microsoft has developed the Hybrid Cloud for smart water resource management, including functionality for information integration, real-time monitoring, etc. These new technologies can be widely applied to water leakage detection, smart water resource management, and water pollution monitoring. We have benefited a lot from this visit. We also look forward to cooperating with Microsoft Taiwan Corporation in the field of hydraulic engineering and look forward to opportunities for innovative transformation.
